WeiiSafe Privacy Policy
No account, and as little data as we can manage.
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what C2S4 LLC ("we", "us") handles when you use the WeiiSafe app, which shows travel safety information for a country or a city. It covers the app only. This website, including its cookies, is covered by the WeiiGo Privacy Policy.
No account
WeiiSafe has no account and no sign-in. It never asks for your name, email address or phone number. It does not ask for your location, your contacts, your photos or permission to send you notifications, and it has no in-app purchases or advertising.
What stays on your phone
These are stored on your phone only. They are never sent to us, and we cannot see them:
- Your passport nationality, if you choose one in Settings. WeiiSafe uses it on your phone to pick out your own country's embassies and consulates from the list it downloads.
- Your recent searches.
- Your settings, such as the app's language and appearance.
- The information WeiiSafe has fetched, saved so that it can show it again when you have no connection.
Deleting the app deletes all of them.
What the app sends to fetch information
WeiiSafe asks our servers for the information it shows. To do that it sends:
- The text you type in the search box, to find matching countries and cities.
- The code of the country you open (for example
FRfor France), and for safety tips, the name of the city you opened, if any. - The app's language, so the answer comes back in that language where we have it.
These requests carry no account, user id or anything else that names you. Like every website, our servers see the IP address a request comes from. We use it only to limit how many requests one address can make each minute; that count is kept in memory and is not saved to our database. So that a search many people make is answered quickly, our servers keep a search's results for about a minute under the search text alone, with nothing that says who searched. Our server monitoring (New Relic) records each request, such as which information was asked for, how long it took and whether it failed.
When you tap a phone number, WeiiSafe hands it to your phone to call; the call does not go through us. A website you open from WeiiSafe, such as an embassy's or the US State Department's, opens in your browser and is covered by that site's own privacy policy.
Crash and usage data
WeiiSafe sends anonymous crash and usage data to New Relic, our monitoring provider, so that we can find and fix problems. This includes crash reports, how long the app is open, your device model, operating system and app version, and the addresses, timing and outcome of the app's requests to our servers, which may include what you searched for. New Relic receives your IP address with this data and uses it to estimate a rough location, such as your country or region. It tells one installation from another with an identifier it creates for the app on your phone.
WeiiSafe does not send New Relic a user id, a name, an email address or a phone number, so this data is not linked to who you are. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
How the safety tips are written
WeiiSafe's local safety tips are written in advance, on our servers, with the help of AI (Anthropic's Claude). Opening them in WeiiSafe only reads what has already been written. Nothing you type or do in WeiiSafe is sent to an AI service.
Sharing & third parties
We do not sell data. The service providers that help us run WeiiSafe are:
- Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting for the servers WeiiSafe asks for information.
- New Relic — crash reporting and monitoring of the app and our servers.
- Apple — the App Store, from which you install WeiiSafe, under Apple's own privacy policy.
Data retention
- On your phone: your nationality, recent searches, settings and saved information stay until you change them or delete the app.
- On our servers: we keep no record of you, because there is no account. A search's results are kept for about a minute.
- Crash and usage data is kept by New Relic for the period its service keeps such data.
International transfers
Some of our providers operate outside your country (for example in the United States or the European Union). Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers and applicable data-transfer mechanisms.
Children
WeiiSafe is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by your jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete your data. Because WeiiSafe has no account, we hold nothing we can link to you; what WeiiSafe keeps is on your phone, and deleting the app removes it. If you have a question or a request, contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
