Ask Janet

Janet is WeiiGo's travel assistant. Ask her about your trips in your own words, let her suggest changes to your plans, or plan a whole new trip by talking it through with her.

WeiiGo Pro — Janet is part of WeiiGo Pro. On Free, the places to ask her are hidden, or show you what Pro adds when you tap them. If your Pro ends, you can still open and read your old chats with Janet, but you can't ask anything new. Tap Renew Pro to ask Janet. at the bottom of the chat to come back.

Where to find Janet

Ask Janet about all your trips

Use the card on Home when your question is about your trips, but not about one trip in particular. You can ask about past, current or upcoming trips.

1. Tap Home and scroll to the Ask Janet card.
2. Tap Ask Janet a question. The Ask Janet a Question page opens.
3. Type your question in the Ask Janet… box.
4. Tap Send.

Good to know

• You can plan a new trip right here: tell Janet where and when, and she shows you a trip to confirm (see Plan a trip by chatting below).
• Not sure what to ask? Tap Help me plan a trip, What trips do I have? or Where should I go? Janet answers straight away.
• This is one saved conversation. Open it again and it picks up where you left off, scrolled to the newest message.
• Tap Clear, then Clear conversation, to delete it and start again. This removes it from your phone and from WeiiGo, and can't be undone.
• In this general chat, Janet can also save a place to your ideas, start a new ideas collection, or add a Dream Trip for someday. She shows you a card first. Tap Confirm to save it.
• Ask about one of your Dream Trips with an amount, like "What could we do with $6,000?". Janet tells you roughly what fits, such as how long, when and how comfortable. She can add it to the dream as a what-if when you confirm.
• Dream Trips are only in this chat. A trip's chat doesn't see them.
• A trip marked Pre-Planning is a plan Janet built that you haven't accepted yet. When you ask about it, she tells you that and doesn't call it booked.

Ask Janet about one trip

Ask from inside a trip when your question is about that trip. Janet can then read its plan, bookings and documents.

1. Tap Trips, then tap your trip.
2. On the trip's card, tap Janet - AI. The page opens as Changes to and your trip's name.
3. Tap one of the question ideas, or type your own question in Ask Janet….
4. Tap Send.

Good to know

• The ideas change with your trip. Before you go, you see ones like Help me get ready for this trip. While you're away, you see What's planned for today? and What's next?. Tap More questions to see the rest.
• Janet keeps one chat for each trip, and one general chat, which Home's Ask Janet card opens. Open it again and your chat is still there. A chat you haven't used for 30 days is deleted.
• Tap the 🎙 button to speak your question instead of typing. Nothing is sent until you tap Send.
• A question can be up to 2,000 characters, in any chat with Janet. When you get close, a counter like 1850/2000 shows under the box.
• Janet needs the internet. When you're offline, the chat says so.
• There's a limit on how many questions you can ask in one day. It resets the next day.

What Janet can do on a trip

Get answers about your trip

Janet reads your trip for you, so you don't have to dig through it.

1. Open the chat from your trip, as above.
2. Ask what you want to know. For example:
   • "What's planned for today?" or "Where am I staying tonight?"
   • "Are my flights on time?" or "What time is my next flight?"
   • "How many bags can I check?" (Janet reads your booking)
   • "Do I need a visa?" or "Is it safe there?"
   • "What's the weather like on Thursday?"
   • "What's left on my checklist?"
3. Tap Identify itinerary issues to have Janet check your whole plan for tight connections, overlaps or nights with nowhere to stay.
4. Tap Save to trip under an answer to keep it in your trip notes.

Good to know

• Tap Something to do near me to get ideas close by. Only this button shares where you are, and only for that one question. Location must be turned on for WeiiGo.
• On a trip with several stops, Janet answers about the stop you're asking about, such as the weather for a later day.
• If your booking doesn't say something, Janet tells you so and suggests you check with the airline or hotel. She won't guess.
• Save to trip shows only if you can make changes to the trip.
• Ask for hidden gems and Janet can show a card for each place. Tap Add to trip to pick a day for it, or Web to open its website.

Let Janet change your plan

Ask Janet to add, move, swap or remove things. She shows you the change first, and nothing happens until you say yes.

1. Tell Janet what you want. For example, "Move the castle to Thursday morning" or "Find us a good lunch spot near the museum".
2. Read the Proposed change card.
3. Tap Confirm to make the change, or Dismiss to leave your trip as it is.
4. Tap View in itinerary › to see the change in your trip.

Good to know

• Janet can also swap one activity for another, swap your hotel for a different one, and add a flight or hotel she found for you. On your own trips, she can fill an empty day with activities too. Filling a day takes a few minutes. You get a notification when it's done.
• She won't swap a hotel you booked, or one with a document or payment saved to it.
• Flight late, or missed it? Tell Janet when you land now. Her card lists what moves: your flight, your hotel check-in, and the stops you'd miss, which move later or go to Trip ideas. She doesn't change your flight number, so update it if you were rebooked. This works only before your trip starts.
• Adding a flight or hotel puts it in your plan. It does not book it. You still book it yourself with the airline or hotel.
• When you tell Janet how you like to travel, like "we always walk rather than take taxis", she may offer to remember it for next time. Tap Confirm to add it to your preferences.
• If someone shared a trip with you and you can only view it, Janet can answer questions but can't change the trip.

Plan a trip with Janet

Plan a trip with Janet

Choose where and when you'd like to go, and Janet checks it with you. She asks a few quick questions, then builds your trip, and the trip's page opens while she works.

1. On Home, under Plan Your Next Adventure, tap Plan a trip with Janet. Plan a New Trip opens.
2. Tap To and choose a place, like Lisbon. You can leave it empty and let Janet ask you.
3. Tap Travel Dates, tap your first day, then your last day, then confirm.
4. Tap Plan with Janet.
5. Janet checks your trip in one sentence, like "I see that you want to go to Lisbon for 7 days, from May 3, 2027 to May 9, 2027. Is that correct?". Tap Yes.

WeiiGo Pro — Planning with Janet is part of WeiiGo Pro. On Free, Plan with Janet has a Pro tag, and tapping it shows what Pro adds. Plan a trip with Janet on Home is free.

Good to know

• If you left To empty, Janet starts with "Where would you like to go?". On a trip with several stops she asks for each empty one in turn, then checks your trip.
• Tap Explore Destinations instead to browse places. It is a separate way to plan, and it takes you on to Plan Your Trip, not back to this page.
• Tap No if something is wrong. Janet checks each part on its own. If the place or the dates are wrong, you go back to Plan a New Trip to change them.
• If you set Travelers or From, Janet's sentence names them too, like "for 2 people and leaving from DEN".
• If you keep the dates the form filled in, Janet checks those with you too.
• To change the place or dates later, tap Edit on the card at the top of the chat. Changing them starts the chat again.
• A trip can be up to 30 days.
• Until Janet starts building your trip, your answers stay only on this page. If you go back before then, you start again next time.

Tell Janet who's going and what you like

After you tap Yes, Janet asks how many are going (unless she already named them), your budget and what you enjoy. Then she offers popular things to do, asks how you're getting there and whether to include a place to stay, and asks if there's anything else she should know. Tap an answer, or type it.

1. Tap how many are going, like 2 people.
2. Tap a budget: Budget, Moderate or Luxury.
3. Tap the things you enjoy, like Food & Dining and Museums. Or tap A mix of everything.
4. Tap the send arrow.
5. To pick some popular things to do, tap Yes, suggest some, tap the ones you'd like, then tap Add these. Or tap No thanks.
6. When Janet asks How will you be getting there?, tap Flying, Driving or Neither. If she asks where you'll fly from, type a city, a town or an airport code. If she asks where you'll drive from, type a city or town.
7. When she asks about a place to stay each night, tap Yes, please or No thanks.
8. Type anything else Janet should know, like a birthday dinner or a place to skip, and tap the send arrow. Or tap Nothing else.

Good to know

• 3–4 people plans for 3, and 5+ people plans for 5. For an exact number, type it, like "4 of us".
• Each budget shows a rough amount per person, per day.
• If you set a usual budget, it is already lit. Tap it, or another one, to answer. To set it, tap More, then Settings, then Budget under Planning Defaults.
• Your Interests from Settings start lit. Tap a tile to turn it on or off for this trip.
• If your trip already has a place to leave from, Janet uses it for Driving and doesn't ask again. An airport isn't used for a drive.
• You can choose up to three of Janet's suggestions for each day of your trip, and up to 12 in all. The ones you add go into your plan.
• If you've set a Default airport, Janet names it in her question. To leave from somewhere else, type a city, a town or an airport code.
• You can type your answers too, like "two of us" or "mid-range". If Janet doesn't understand, she asks you to use the options above.
• Changed your mind? Tap your answer in the chat, where it says Change, and choose again: tap another option, pick new dates in the calendar, or tap the tiles and then Done for your interests. Tap Cancel to keep the answer you had. Where you're going can't be changed: to start again, go back and tap Plan with Janet.

Janet builds your trip

When you've answered, Janet starts building your trip and its page opens. The trip is yours straight away, so there's nothing to accept.

1. Your trip's page opens with Janet is building your trip while she works. It takes a few minutes.
2. Leave the page or the app if you like. You get a notification when your trip is ready.
3. To change something, ask Janet in your chat about the trip: tap Janet - AI on the trip's card (see Let Janet change your plan).

Good to know

• While Janet works, your trip is already under Upcoming on the Trips tab.
• Each trip Janet builds counts toward your daily limit of trips. If you reach it, Janet tells you in the chat.
• A trip Janet suggested in an earlier version of WeiiGo may still be marked Pre-Planning. Open it and tap Accept to make it yours, Make changes to ask Janet for a change, or Discard to delete it.

If Janet can't start your trip

Sometimes Janet can't start building, for example when you've reached the daily limit or you're offline. She says why and shows Continue, and your answers are kept.

1. Tap Continue. Janet shows a summary of your trip.
2. Check the card: where, when, how many are going and your budget.
3. Tap Create My Trip to try again. Your trip opens straight away, and Janet builds it from your answers.

Good to know

• Tap Keep planning to close the card, then Continue when you're ready. Or type something instead: Janet adds it to your notes and tries to build the trip again.
• Tap Save as draft to keep the trip without a plan. It waits on the Trips tab, and you go back to Home.
• There's a daily limit on how many trips WeiiGo can build for you. If you reach it, WeiiGo tells you.

Plan a trip by chatting

Tell Janet where and when you'd like to go, and she plans the whole trip for you. You do this in the same chat as Home's Ask Janet card.

1. On Home, tap Ask Janet a question on the Ask Janet card.
2. Tap Help me plan a trip. Or type your trip in Ask Janet… and tap Send.
3. Answer Janet's questions. She only asks for what she still needs, like where or when.

Good to know

• Home's Plan a trip with Janet starts from a form and asks its questions one at a time. This chat lets you say it all your own way.

Set your dates, travelers and how you're getting there

Tell Janet where and when you'd like to go, how many are going, how you're getting there and the kinds of things you like, in your own words. If she needs one of them, she asks.

1. Tap Ask Janet….
2. Say where and when you'd like to go, and how many are going. For example, "Lisbon, Oct 12 – 18, two of us".
3. Say how you're getting there, like "we're driving" or "flying from Denver".
4. Tap Send.
5. Answer Janet's questions. She only asks for what she still needs.

Good to know

• If you don't say how you're getting there, Janet works out how far it is. For a long trip she suggests flying. For a shorter one she asks if you plan to drive.
• If Janet doesn't know where you're leaving from, she asks you.
• If you saved a travel group, Janet plans for that many people. To change it, tap More, then Settings, then Travel group under Planning Defaults.
• If you tell Janet something different later in the chat, she goes with what you say.

Build the trip

When Janet has what she needs, she shows you the plan in a card. Nothing is built until you say yes.

1. Read Janet's card. It shows where you're going and your dates.
2. Tap Confirm to build it, or Dismiss to keep chatting.
3. The card now says Planning your trip — you'll get a notification when it's ready. You can leave the chat.
4. When your trip is ready, you get a notification. Tap it to open your trip.

Good to know

• While it's being built, your new trip is already under Upcoming on the Trips tab.
• Flying? WeiiGo adds a flight for your dates to the new trip. It leaves from the airport you told Janet. If you didn't name one, it leaves from your Default airport. To set that, tap More, then Settings, then Default airport.
• The flight isn't booked. You still book it yourself. With no airport, or no flight found, the trip is built without one. If no flight was found, the notification says so, and you can ask Janet in the trip's chat to search again.
• Set a Preferred airline in Settings and WeiiGo picks a flight on that airline when one fits your budget. Janet doesn't pick up an airline from your past trips. Only the one you set counts.
• Building a trip takes a few minutes.
• If the trip can't be built, the card stays and says why, such as a trip that is too long. There's also a daily limit on how many trips WeiiGo can build for you.
• Your conversation stays after the trip is built. Come back to it any time.
• Janet needs the internet. When you're offline, the chat says so.

Hear Janet's answers

Have Janet read an answer aloud

Listen to an answer instead of reading it, for example while you walk.

1. Open any chat with Janet and ask your question.
2. When the answer has finished, tap Speak it under it.
3. Tap Stop to stop.

Good to know

• Janet reads in the language WeiiGo is set to.
• With the internet, Janet reads in a natural voice. Offline, or after a lot of listening in one day, your phone's own voice reads instead.
• Answers that use places from Google Maps show Answers that use Google Maps can't be read aloud. instead of Speak it.
• Asking something new, tapping 🎙 or leaving the chat stops the reading.
• You can listen to an old chat even after your Pro ends.

Have Janet read every answer aloud

Turn this on and each new answer is read out as soon as it arrives.

1. Tap More, then Settings.
2. Under App, turn on Read Janet's answers aloud.

Good to know

• It is off until you turn it on.
• Answers you asked before you turned it on are not read. Tap Speak it to hear one.
• Signing out turns it off again.

What Janet won't do

• She won't book anything. She can find flights, hotels and hire cars, and add them to your plan. You always book them yourself with the provider.
• She won't change your trip without asking. Every change is a card you confirm or dismiss.
• She won't make things up. If she can't find an answer, she says so.
• She won't use your location unless you tap Something to do near me.
• She isn't an emergency service. In an emergency, use the Safety tab.

Good to know

• Janet is AI and can make mistakes. Always check prices and details before you book.
• To see what Janet has learned about how you like to travel, tap More, then My Profile, then What Janet remembers. You can delete anything there.
